NANETS is pleased to announce its 2021 research grant recipients, which will be presented at the Multidisciplinary NET Medical Symposium in Chicago November 4-6. NANETS offered two grant opportunities this year: the Basic Translational Science Investigator (BTSI) and NANETS Clinical Investigator Scholarship (NCIS).

Jessica Maxwell, MD, is the 2021 recipient of NANETS’ Clinical Investigator Scholarship (NCIS). Dr. Maxwell was awarded this grant for her proposal: Characterization of the small bowel neuroendocrine tumor immune environment. Dr. Maxwell is an Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

J. Bart Rose, III, MD, is the 2021 recipient of NANETS’ Basic/Translational Science Investigator Award (BTSI). Dr. Rose was awarded this scholarship for his proposal: Molecular influences of racial disparities in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Dr. Rose is an Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
