General Information

NANETS is committed to furthering neuroendocrine tumor disease diagnosis, treatment and management through research and education. NANETS encourages abstract reporting on recent NET research and/or describing ongoing or current clinical trials with the intent of increasing awareness of these studies. Investigators may submit abstracts that have been presented at other scientific meetings and/or published in scientific journals since October 1, 2023. For reference in writing a successful abstract, please visit the NANETS Abstracts Library for examples.

Please read ALL instructions carefully before submitting your Abstract. The Abstract Submission Portal is located at the end of this page.

Requirements and Expectations

All presenters whose abstracts are accepted are required to a) join NANETS and b) register for the Symposium. Please note that registration fees are discounted for NANETS members in good standing. Membership information can be found HERE. Accepted abstract presenters are expected to prepare and present a poster of the accepted abstract during the poster session at the Symposium.

Travel

The Symposium is November 21-23, 2024 in Chicago, IL, USA. By submitting an abstract, you are committing to attending the Symposium, if accepted. Please check your passport and other required travel documentation well in advance.

Travel Grants

At least 10 travel grants will be awarded to members of NANETS who have submitted a highly scored abstract. These grants cover conference registration, one hotel night, and up to $500 toward transportation. You will have the opportunity to apply for a grant during the abstract submission process. The following professionals may be considered for a travel grant:

Graduate Students (must have a letter of support from the program director)
Fellows
Allied Healthcare Professionals
Post-Doctoral Fellows
Residents (must have a letter of support from the program director)
Junior Faculty (within 5 years of fellowship training or postgraduate appointment)
First or Last Author on the abstract and poster who meet eligibility criteria

PLEASE NOTE: In the past, those chosen for oral presentations were automatically covered for registration and travel expenses like a speaker. That will NOT be the case this year. Eligible professionals should be sure to enter their interest in a travel grant as part of the submission process.

Communication

Communication will go through the online abstract processing system. The submitter should be the presenting author or if you are submitting on behalf of the presenting author, you will need to add their contact information and list them as a presenter. It is the responsibility of the submitter to stay abreast of and relay vital communication to the team of authors.

Abstract Content

The word limit for all four sections combined is 400 words. The word count does not include title, author names or institutions. One data table no larger than 10 rows × 5 columns is permitted per abstract and is counted in the word count.

Abstracts must include the following four sections in order to be submitted for review:

Background: The problem under investigation or a hypothesis.
Methods: The experimental methods or protocols used to accomplish the research.
Results: The key points derived from experiments.
Conclusion: A summary of your findings that are supported by the data presented.

You can cut and paste text or type directly in the section boxes.

Authors and Affiliations

Please include all non-presenting authors. Each author is entered on a separate line. First names should be complete and not just given as an initial. Each author may have up to two affiliations. Please make sure that if multiple authors share the same affiliation that the affiliation is entered exactly the same for each author.

First Author: Should be listed first. The author order in the abstract book will be based on the order you select.

Presenting Author: Please indicate which author will be the presenting author. If the presenting author is not registered to attend the conference, the abstract will be removed from the abstract book and Symposium program.

Corresponding Author: All emails regarding the submission will be sent to the submitter.

You are required to obtain the approval of all co-authors before placing their names on the abstract. Failure to do so will result in the immediate rejection of the abstract.

If submitting an abstract on behalf of someone else, you must add the presenting author’s name and contact information.

For first, presenting, and senior authors, we will also ask if they are early career. This designation is important for the consideration of travel grants and awards. Early career is defined as: Graduate Students, Fellows, Allied Healthcare Professionals, Post-Doctoral Fellows, Residents, Junior Faculty (within 5 years of fellowship training or postgraduate appointment).
